[COM&SPORT] : It seems that many people in Dortmund are huge fans of BVB. Can you tell us a few words about it?

[Jürgen Klopp] : BVB 09 is one of the last Champions league winners and continues to be one of the most successful clubs in Germany. So, for each match, an average of 80 000 people come to support the team. That provides great motivation for the players as well as pressure to win at home.

[COM&SPORT] : What about your first meeting with Neven Subotic?

[Jürgen Klopp] : During that time I was the coach at Mainz 05. Neven was only 17 when I saw him first play during a training session. After observing him only 5 minutes on the field, I had no doubt about his abilities and I decided to have him be part of the team. Despite his youth, Neven was much more mature than others his age. In addition, he is a hard worker, too.

[COM&SPORT] : You are BVB’s coach since June 2008; can you explain how the team has evolved?

[Jürgen Klopp] : We have the youngest team in the Bundesliga. Many of the players are very talented but we have yet to reach a stable level of play mainly because of the team's youth. Most of them are willing and give all they can during the matches, but it’s not enough. We have to continue to work hard to win more games on a regular basis.

[COM&SPORT] : What would you say about Neven’s progress in the team?

[Jürgen Klopp] : Neven improved during the past year and is now well settled in his position. Meanwhile, he scored 6 goals last season as a defender. If he continues to work as hard as he does, he is on the right path to become a very good player with a promising career he deserves.

[COM&SPORT] : What do you expect for Neven’s future?

[Jürgen Klopp] : Neven is a great centre back. He should keep focus on improving and continue to train hard. If he keeps building on his successful season from last year, he will be able to become one of the best players in his position.
